Hello.  My name is Harry Richardson, and I’ve been a trumpet teacher for the last 20 years and a band director for the last 15.  In that time, I’ve had thousands of successful students go through my bands, and I’ve seen how a good instrument helps a student learn well.  I’ve also seen students experience difficulty learning to play because of bad instruments.  Often they quit band thinking that they’re just not good at playing their instrument.  In reality, it was just a bad instrument that made the experience bad for them.

I remember the first time I opened the case of my new cornet.  It was a silver Bach Mercedes II, and I couldn’t have been more proud. Twenty-eight years and quite a few new and used horns later, I have never regretted my decision to choose to play the cornet.
